If soil is covered by plants, then the wind carries less or no sand away. In addition - any growth on sandy desert like soil protects the soil from being dried and thus opens the possibilities for more growth - other plants.
Railroad vine is a quiet abundant beach flower in some remote beaches of the Philippine islands. See previous flower photos from Railroad vine for more details.
This photo series was taken in Bicol province - Luzon island. Railroad vine also grows abundantly on Cambodian beaches.

Poinsettia widescreen wallpaper. Euphorbia pulcherrima - Commonly called Chirstmas flower or in some geographic areas also Christmas star - the red petals are no flower petals but leaves of the plant. The actual flower is in the center of the red flower arrangement.
